Duga Resa

A town on the emerald Mrežnica river that grew around a large 19th century textile mill, one of the earliest industrial sites in the region.

Duga Resa sits in Central Croatia, a part of Croatia with its own character, and the city & town is the reason most people stop.

Shoulder season, May or September, gives you the charm without the cruise ship crowds. Wander off the main street, the best cafés and doorways are one alley over.

Timing your trip

For Duga Resa, May to October is the dependable window. June and September are ideal, warm and lighter on crowds than July and August. In winter the country turns quieter and cheaper, especially in the inland cities.
