Carry water, sun protection and a real map or offline GPS. Mobile signal is patchy inland and the weather can turn quickly above 1,000 m.
Practical info
- Entry: look up the current price and opening hours before you go. Both change through the year, and a few spots close completely out of season.
- How to get there: The map above gives exact directions. Expect paid, signposted parking in most towns (blue P zones), and pad your schedule if you are catching a ferry to an island.
Best time to visit
Kozjak Split is at its best from May to October. June and September are the sweet spot, warm water, long days, and thinner crowds than high July and August. Winter shows a quieter, cheaper and surprisingly handsome country, especially inland and in the cities.
